Reorganize - Integrate - Regenerate

WHAT IS SPINAL FLOW® TECHNIQUE

The Spinal Flow® Technique was developed by Dr. Carli Axford with over 20 years of research, observation and clinical success.  It is a healing modality rooted in chiropractic, Network Spinal Care and Craniosacral.

The Spinal Flow® Technique combines philosophy, science, and a gentle, intuitive, hands-on approach to guide the nervous system away from the sympathetic stress response of fight/flight, which humans can often remain stuck in for decades. It is not possible for the body to heal itself when stressed, or in tension patterns.  Spinal Flow facilitates the release of both past and present stress, supporting the body’s natural capacity to reorganize, learn, heal and regenerate toward optimal wellness.

Everyone is born with an incredible sustaining intelligence or life force energy in the body that is both complicated and highly organized.   When stress remains unresolved, it can create blockages in the spine, disrupting the flow of this essential energy. These blockages affect the proper functioning of organs, tissues, muscles, and cells throughout the body.

By enhancing spinal flow, this life force energy can move freely along the spine, encouraging reorganization and release of tension patterns . This process helps release "stuck" or unresolved stress, allowing the body to correct distortions, align posture, and achieve balance. As a result, many experience reduced symptoms and a heightened sense of well-being, and a better resilience to stress.

Focusing on the seven spinal gateways, the technique addresses stress and blockages, with clients often reporting notable improvements in physical health, emotional and mental stability, reduced stress, and an overall enhanced quality of life.

Tina Ward

I am overjoyed and deeply grateful to share this transformative healing modality with others!

"How are you, Tina?"
"I'm good, thanks."

This was my standard response for years, the socially "appropriate" answer to give. But deep down, I couldn’t articulate how I truly felt. I just knew that I never felt completely "at home" in my own skin.

I am someone who has experienced early developmental trauma, unhealthy relationship dynamics, witnessed and endured abuse, adapted to frequent moves, struggled with addiction and low self-esteem—yet, I have always carried a profound empathy, compassion, and care for others. Alongside these traits, I’ve nurtured a strong sense of responsibility and an unshakable curiosity to uncover more about life—and myself.

At age 35, I made a choice: to dive deep into my own healing journey. Over the next decade, I collected countless tools, insights, and practices, focusing on cognitive and meditative techniques. Then, two years ago, I shifted my focus from my mind to my body. By learning about the nervous system, the interplay between the parasympathetic and sympathetic responses, how memory is stored (hint: it’s not in the mind!), and the intricacies of our biology, I began to experience profound changes. For the first time, I started to feel safe.

This journey led me to discover Network Spinal Analysis, and everything shifted even further. After receiving weekly treatments for over a year, I finally felt at home in myself. I began embracing the person I was meant to be before stress, trauma, and conditioned beliefs disconnected me from my true self.

On a physical level, the changes were undeniable:

  • My chronic neck pain disappeared.

  • My shoulders relaxed.

  • Hip and sciatic pain ceased.

  • My posture improved.

  • And I stopped holding my breath.

When the chance came to become a certified Spinal Flow Technique practitioner, it was as though my heart and body awakened like never before.

After spending more than 20 years in the corporate world—an environment that my body consistently rebelled against—I chose a new path. I trained under Dr. Carli and immersed myself in her wisdom and passion for this incredible modality.

Today, I am honored to hold space for others as they release stress, tension, and blockages from their spines and nervous systems. Witnessing my clients reconnect with their innate, intelligent, and life-sustaining energy is nothing short of magical.

Everything begins with a sense of safety and a nurturing connection.

Welcome home.

TESTIMONIAL

Angela - BC - Fascial Stretch Therapist

The two Spinal Flow sessions I received were subtle but with huge waves of difference during, and following the days post treatment.  Tina has a highly intuitive way of navigating the blockages within the spine that hinder the flow potential for health & wellness.  While on the table, I felt movements and shifts inside my body, as if re-wiring itself, even though no movement was being administered.  I had visions and emotions arise in certain spots that helped me to identify where some of these blockages might be coming from, which then helped me release trapped flow.  I felt an increase of ease inside my body the following days as well as adjustments, tingling in areas that have been numb, loss of rumination and feelings of peace.  Tina is an incredible holder of space and understanding and I look forward to efficiently healing with this modality.

Dynamic modeling of spinal electromyographic activity during various conditions

Tension in the cord can promote hyperstimulation of the proprioceptive afferent fibers resulting in impaired function of the spine and other areas of the central nervous system.  Dural attachments create a coupling between the biomechanics of the spine and the central nervous system. More specifically, dural attachments appear to create a feedback from the mechanical movement of the spine to the electrical activity of efferent nerve fibers.  READ MORE

The Network Spinal Wave as a Central Pattern Generator

This article explains the research on a unique spinal wave visibly observed in association with network spinal analysis care. Since 1997, the network wave has been studied using surface electromyography (sEMG), characterized mathematically, and determined to be a unique and repeatable phenomenon.

The network wave involves a visible undulation and specific rocking movement of spinal segments, which is elicited through gentle contacts in a defined sequence to the spine at specific areas. The areas are associated with the location of meningeal attachments of the spinal cord to the vertebral column.  READ MORE

How Network Spinal Care Helped Heal My Trauma - by Jeff Spiteri - CPTSD Foundation

When I discuss Trauma treatments with people whether it be for PTSD or CPTSD I often hear a range of modalities from classical talk therapies like CBT and DBT to Somatic Experiencing, neuro hacks like EMDR and TRE, to cutting-edge research on psychedelics but rarely have I heard anyone mention Network Spinal Analysis.  READ MORE

The Winsor Autopsies

In 1921, Dr. Henry Winsor, a medical doctor, initially set out to challenge the validity of chiropractic by conducting an in-depth study on human and animal cadavers. His goal? To determine whether there was any correlation between spinal misalignments and diseases affecting internal organs.

What Dr. Winsor discovered was nothing short of groundbreaking. He noted that there was nearly a 100% correlation between spinal misalignments and various health conditions.

Homeland Security - The HPA Axis - Where It All Begins

We all know the feeling; our blood pressure and breathing increase to mount the battle, our muscles tighten so we can run faster, leap farther or hit harder, and our senses go on red alert so we can see and hear more acutely.  And as soon as the danger passes, we return to normal—collapsing or breathing a sigh of relief.

This is the normal response when one form of stress or another triggers the HPA Axis; the relationship among the hypothalamus (H), the pituitary gland (P) and the adrenal glands (A) that produces finely tuned chemical messages that connect the central nervous system, endocrine and immune system.  HPA is the linchpin that activates the body’s main defenses.  Together, these 3 systems are the sentinels of health.  READ MORE

A Tonal Solution for Subluxation Patterns

The outcomes that are achieved with tonal techniques focus on engaging a process of change rather than managing an episode of symptomatic relief.  The spinal systems are sensitive and reactive to unusual position and motion.  The release of tension patterns and the entrainment of new postural habits allow the spinal systems to change and unwind.  READ MORE

Does Our Cerebrospinal Fluid Give Us Being?

Harvard-trained physician Dr. Mauro Zappattera describes the embryonic origins and the extent and function of our cerebrospinal fluid, and shows the remarkable parallels between its anatomy and the descriptions realized by yogis down the ages. He introduces us to the composition of the CSF, which include melatonin and DMT, and asks whether this is the physical feature that allows us to be conscious of our beingness.  WATCH HERE

Cerebrospinal Fluid: The Bridge Between Spirit and Matter

Cerebrospinal Fluid is a fluid that surrounds and cushions the brain and spinal cord, playing a crucial role in their function. But, according to Dr. Mauro Zappaterra and his work, the purpose and importance of CSF is likely beyond anything we’re told.  WATCH HERE

Cerebrospinal Fluid Stasis and its Clinical Significance

We hypothesize that stasis of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) occurs commonly and is detrimental to health. Physiologic factors affecting the normal circulation of CSF include cardiovascular, respiratory, and vasomotor influences. The CSF maintains the electrolytic environment of the central nervous system (CNS), influences systemic acid-base balance, serves as a medium for the supply of nutrients to neuronal and glial cells, functions as a lymphatic system for the CNS by removing the waste products of cellular metabolism, and transports hormones, neurotransmitters, releasing factors, and other neuropeptides throughout the CNS. Physiologic impedance or cessation of CSF flow may occur commonly in the absence of degenerative changes or pathology and may compromise the normal physiologic functions of the CSF. CSF appears to be particularly prone to stasis within the spinal canal.  READ MORE
